Rivian offers $5,000 towards a new EV lease in US sales push

  • American electric vehicle manufacturer, Rivian, has launched a limited time EV leasing offer for its US customers, running up until the end of November.
  • Rivian is running the $5,000 offer on the entry-level dual motor, standard battery pack variants of its R1S SUV and R1T truck flagship models, while more expensive model specifications will be granted a larger $6,500 lease bonus.
  • This bonus can be put towards either reducing the monthly payment cost, or for reducing the upfront payment – helping to make Rivian ownership more accessible.

Rivian launches new EV lease offer for its R1S and R1T models

The $5,000 leasing offer, available in the USA until the end of the month, helps make the current entry point into Rivian EV ownership more accessible, and the brand is also running a similar $6,500 lease bonus for the more expensive variants of its R1S and R1T.

This month’s lease bonus, which mirrors earlier leasing deals from Rivian, comes after the USA’s $7,500 EV tax credit expired back at the end of September. The new offer helps, at least partially, make up for this new shortfall. Since the end of that credit, lease offers have become increasingly popular in the US, and Rivian isn’t the only manufacturer to use these offers in an attempt to continue driving sales. Brands such as Audi, BMW, and Chevrolet also offering generous savings on their EV leases – such as 0% interest, cash bonuses, and more.

Even with the lease bonus of up to $6,500, Rivian’s R1S ($76,990 base MSRP) and R1T remain expensive and the only option for Rivian ownership. From next year however, that’s all about to change. Recently, the brand confirmed that its more affordable R2 electric SUV is on track for a release in the first half of 2026. This model is targeting a starting price of $45,000, putting it in a strong position for a mass market audience. If Rivian can offer similar leasing deals once its R2 comes to market, there’s a big chance that next year’s EV could be a sales chart-topper.
