- European CPO PowerGo has reached a significant milestone within its Denmark operations, announcing the installation of over 300 chargers in Denmark, just in time for the busy summer holidays.
- With charging power at its units ranging from 22kW slow chargers to ultra-rapid options, the new chargers will form an important part of EV ownership both for those unable to charge at home and those needing to recharge rapidly on long journeys.
- More charging locations from PowerGo are set to arrive in Denmark in the coming months.
Denmark’s EV charging infrastructure gets a boost thanks to PowerGo
As well as sites being positioned on major highways, many of these installations are also placed at everyday locations such as schools, town halls, and sports facilities, helping to make electric car ownership accessible to more people. Furthering the sustainability aspect of EV ownership, all energy used at PowerGo’s sites are renewable – with energy provided from parent company PowerField’s solar farms.
In Denmark, PowerGo has already won 19 tenders to install over 1,600 public charging points, so we can expect its network to grow even further in the country in the future.
On a wider picture, PowerGo is looking to expand across Europe rapidly also. Whilst it already operates around 1,700 charge points across seven European countries, earlier this month, it announced its intentions to expand ultra-rapid chargers in particular across not only Denmark, but also the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain. In Denmark, it plans to soon open 10 more ultra-rapid EV chargers (with speeds of up to 480kW) across three locations, with these being located on highways.
Frederikke Fog, Tender Manager for PowerGo, commented:
“We are proud that we have improved the charging opportunities for EV drivers in Jutland. It is important that we accelerate the transition to green mobility and contribute to the public charging infrastructure in Denmark. One thing is certain: EV drivers should experience that charging is accessible, affordable and green.”
