Pham Nhat Vuong’s V-Green spearheads EV charging

Pham Nhat Vuong, the architect of VinFast, Vietnam’s leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced a significant new initiative: the launch of V-Green, an EV charging stations company. With an overwhelming 90% ownership stake in V-Green, Vuong’s primary aim is to fortify support for VinFast vehicles on a global scale.

Pham Nhat Vuong commented:

“V-Green will directly search for land and partners to establish and expand its charging network in key markets of VinFast.”

Vuong plans to expand VinFast into at least 50 countries by the end of 2024.

In Vietnam, V-Green will assume responsibility for managing VinFast’s existing charging infrastructure. Notably, there’s potential for V-Green to extend its services to accommodate other EV manufacturers after a five-year operational period. This highlights Vuong’s willingness to collaborate within the industry.

Vuong has allocated a substantial £404 million investment over the next two years to propel this endeavour. This significant financial commitment comes hot off the heels of the automaker’s investment in a mammoth new production facility in Tamil Nadu, India. These heavy investments will reap significant rewards as the expansion takes hold.

V-Green represents Vuong’s latest venture in the EV sector. His prior success with Green SM, an EV taxi operator, significantly contributed to VinFast’s sales in 2023. With V-Green, Vuong further cements his position as a key figure.

V-Green’s establishment marks a significant step toward globalisation for VinFast. Furthermore, it demonstrates Vuong’s commitment to innovation in the industry. We’re yet to establish which regions VinFast is targeting for expansion, but the substantial investment will become a welcome infrastructure boost to any area.
