The EV behind Polestar’s skyrocketing success
The Polestar 2, the first mass-produced car from the brand, hit the production line in 2020. Fast forward three years, and they’ve proudly crafted over 150,000 of these sleek machines.
More than 20,000 Polestar 2s now cruise the roads in the UK. That means the brand is racing ahead as the fastest-growing car nameplate in the first seven months of 2023. The numbers show new vehicle registrations soaring by a staggering 174% compared to the same time last year.
Earlier this year, a celebratory milestone was reached: the 100,000th Polestar 2 gracefully rolled off the production line and into the hands of an Irish customer in Dublin.
“The upgraded Polestar 2 is the best version to date. With improved software, better quality, longer range and faster charging, it is the basis from which we continue to grow our business.”
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO, Polestar
The Polestar 2 Long Range Single motor has secured certification for an impressive 654 km on the WLTP scale. Not to mention, the new 82 kWh battery champs can charge with a lightning-fast maximum DC charging speed of 205 kW.
This astonishing climb through the ranks underscores the rising public interest in EVs. Showing that a new brand can take off and thrive by solely producing zero-emissions vehicles. This goes a long way toward setting the stage for a greener automotive future that’s as thrilling as it is sustainable.
