Tesla has just launched an electric quad bike for kids named the Cyberquad for Kids. Inspired by the Tesla Cybertruck, it’s available to order on the US Tesla website now and has a price tag of $1,900 (£1,430/€1,680).
Tesla says it’s shipping in two to four weeks so some lucky children might get one in time for Christmas, although orders can’t be guaranteed. The Cyberquad for Kids is recommended for ages eight and up with a maximum weight capacity of 150 lbs (68kg).
It has three speed settings which can be limited to a maximum of 5mph (8kph) for new riders if desired. The first setting is up to 5 mph (8kph), the second up to the maximum 10mph (16kph) and reverse at 5mph (8kph).
The Cyberquad for Kids battery has an estimated range of 15+ miles (24+km) but this will vary depending on the user’s weight, riding terrain and speed. It ships in a box and requires some assembly that requires basic mechanics. This includes fitting suspension systems, wheels and handlebars.
We think this one will fly off the shelf, especially as its the cheapest electric vehicle the brand has launched. Some lucky kids will certainly have fun and grow up realising that off-road bike action can be zero emissions and not involve noise, smell and pollution.
On the website, Tesla say: “Get ready for any adventure with the all-electric Cyberquad for Kids. Inspired by our iconic Cybertruck design, the four-wheel ATV features a full steel frame, cushioned seat and adjustable suspension with rear disk braking and LED light bars.
“Powered by a lithium-ion battery with up to 15 miles of range and a configurable top speed of 10 mph, Cyberquad for Kids is suitable for anyone 8-years old and up.”
