Sevic, the European manufacturer of compact electric vans, is expanding its activities to Italy. The brand’s V500e is a compact L7e-CU class electric transporter, which is affordable and ideal for use in urban areas.
The Sevic V500e is available with two different battery size options. The smaller models come with a 16.5 kWh battery that offers up to 93 miles (150km) of range. This will have a starting price of €24,900.
A longer-range model with a 33kWh will also be available. This will offer up a range of up to 186 miles (300km) from a single charge. Prices here begin at €29,500.
This electric vehicle (EV) is built in Bulgaria with more than 80 percent of the components used also coming from European production. Sevic’s corporate headquarters are located in Bochum/Germany.
The V500e will be distributed nationwide in Italy by Vehicles Electric Motion S.r.l., also known as VEM Green. This is a successful company that has been distributing high-quality cargo scooters for the micro-logistics sector since 2021.
During the development of the V500e emphasis was put on a wide range of applications and scalability. Plus, the SEVIC V500e is compact and therefore very manoeuvrable, especially in urban environments.
With a length of 3.7 metres and a width of 1.37 metres, the vehicle is ideal for moving through narrow streets, like those found in Italy for example. That said, smaller vehicles taking up less space in urban environments is always a bonus.
With the Cargo Swap system, the superstructures can also be exchanged individually. This increases the range of applications. What’s more, the cargo boxes can be interchanged within just two minutes.
The loading and unloading process of the goods in the cargo boxes does not take place on a stationary vehicle. The box can be loaded and unloaded on-site without the need for a waiting transporter. This significantly reduces downtime and increases efficiency.
Another advantage is that by exchanging the superstructures, users can switch from a closed transport box to a flatbed, for example, in just a few minutes. The V500e can therefore be used to combine several vehicles in one.
Roberto Quaranta, VEM S.r.l. CEO, said: “The time is ripe, the transition to electric vehicles is not an environmental trend but a duty. In fact, the new environmental regulations in Italy stipulate that a minimum percentage of zero-emission vehicles must be used in certain activities, such as logistics and environmental protection.
“With VEM’s current portfolio we already cover three-wheelers, now we are pleased to be able to offer our customers Sevic’s compact commercial vehicle.”
Safety and service for Sevic vehicles will soon be provided by a large and highly efficient Italian service network. In addition to sales, VEM offers service together with the Maurelli Group. The Maurelli Group consists of 38 branches and a network of over 400 affiliated workshops throughout Italy, providing fast and highly professional after-sales service.
Alexander Brilis, Sevic general manager, said: “We are very pleased to start our cooperation with VEM. Italy is an important market for us and for compact electric transport solutions in general.
“VEM’s combined industry knowledge, as well as the expertise and service network they can offer their customers, are the reasons why we have entrusted them with the distribution for Italy. We look forward to redefining commercial urban mobility there as well.”
