Rimac celebrates 15 years: Special edition Nevera hyper EV revealed

  • Mate Rimac only founded Rimac Automobili back in 2009, being one of the very first EV OEMs, and already, the EV maker has smashed records and become a common name in the hypercar world.
  • Rimac unveiled its second hyper EV, the Nevera, back in 2022, and has now released an exclusive Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition to celebrate the founding of the company.
  • Just nine of these special EVs will be built, in a matte copper paint job.

Rimac’s 15th year in the EV world

Since the Nevera was launched, it’s already smashed several world records. It’s the fastest production EV to lap the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, the fastest production EV in the world, and also holds the Guinness World Records for the fastest speed driven in reverse (That’s 171 mph, in case you were wondering).

There’s no changes over the current Nevera’s performance specs of a 256 mph top speed, 0-62mph time of 1.81 seconds, and 1,914 horsepower on tap, but this special edition is finished in a matte shade of copper – which is supposed to represent the material most commonly used in electrical cables. There’s also an exclusively-themed copper interior, and 15 year anniversary badging across the car.

Just nine of these exclusive examples will be made, going on sale for €2.35m ($2.54m). That also includes a matching set of luggage, and all the option boxes ticked. This special edition EV will also be debuted to the public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, later this week.

Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO of Rimac Group, commented:

“Honestly, when I started to tinker with my first car in a garage, I couldn’t have even dreamt of being where we are 15 years later. There were so many times in the early years that we really thought the company wouldn’t make it, so reaching the 15-year milestone felt like it was worthy of a celebration. The 15th Anniversary Edition Nevera is the car that marks our progress, revealing just how far we’ve come. From garage to global; from worrying about keeping the lights on to a 2bn EUR valuation; from converted BMW 3 Series to the world’s fastest accelerating production car and from hypercar maker to Tier 1 EV tech supplier and energy storage pioneers. All achieved in a country where all of this would have sounded like science fiction at the time of founding the company.”
