QUANTRON are launching its new 12-metre electric bus, CIZARIS, that it hoped to stimulate the market for zero-emissions and affordable buses. The new bus in the Augsburg-based company’s portfolio will be launched as an all-electric version (CIZARIS 12 EV) and will be followed by a fuel cell version (CIZARIS 12 H) in 2023.
QUANTRON was created in 2019 as a spin-off from the Haller Group, which started in 1892 with a horse-drawn carriage business. After almost a century of development of commercial vehicles, the company now offers customisable transport solutions.
The competitive price of the CIZARIS 12 EV, which features proven battery and traction technology, will help to narrow the price gap between diesel buses and zero-emissions buses. The new electric bus will be available as two- and three-door models with nine interior layouts.
The CIZARIS 12 EV uses robust lithium iron phosphate batteries from the brand’s partner CATL, the world’s largest battery producer based in China. When combined with its efficient central synchronous motor that ensures reliable propulsion, it will offer a range of up to 230 miles (370km).
This range will be sufficient for most transport operators so they don’t need to keep charging throughout the day, which will save on the expense on charging infrastructure. Plus, being electric it will also save on servicing and maintenance costs compared to an internal combustion engine (ICE).

For the market launch of the CIZARIS 12 EV, the sales focus will initially be on Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Scandinavia and Southern Europe.
