Nissan and Zapmap continue partnership to deliver range reassurance with accurate charge point mapping
Nissan has prolonged its collaboration with Zapmap to simplify the electric vehicle (EV) charging process. The extension ensures an uncomplicated experience for new Nissan EV owners.
New Nissan EV drivers will enjoy a complimentary Zapmap Premium subscription, featuring in-car support through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The three-year Premium subscription comes as a bonus for private, business, and Motability purchasers of LEAF, ARIYA, and the Townstar electric van. This offer applies to vehicles registered up to and including December 31st, 2024.
For nearly a decade, Zapmap has been mapping EV charging points across the UK, displaying 95% of public chargers on its app and desktop map. Live status information for over 70% of public charge points further enhances its value for EV drivers.
Recently, Zapmap expanded its coverage to mainland Europe.
This expansion allows electric car drivers to search and filter charge points in countries like France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. This extensive mapping service is essential for the EV transition. It makes long journeys accessible by providing services to accurately plan your drive. In turn, that alleviates range anxiety and allows more people to make the switch.
The Premium subscription delivers various advantages, including unlimited filters, route plans, and the ability to access Zapmap within the in-car dashboard via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This functionality empowers drivers to swiftly locate suitable chargers, view live charge point data, access route plans, and link to navigation apps for turn-by-turn directions.
James Bird, EV Product Manager at Nissan Motor GB, said:
“Nissan is thrilled to continue its partnership with Zapmap, and, as a result, help motorists experience an integrated electrified drive. Nissan have always been pioneers of the electric vehicle market and Zapmap leads the way for charge mapping.
‘This extension of our partnership is a natural progression as both companies continue to pave the way for intuitive electric travel.”
Alex Earl, Commercial Director at Zapmap, said:
“I’m very happy to confirm Zapmap’s continuing partnership with Nissan. With drivers increasingly making the switch to electric, our focus is on making charging simple, and that’s exactly what this partnership helps to achieve.
It can sometimes be hard to find suitable chargers while driving. By enabling access to Zapmap within the in-car dashboard, our Premium offering makes navigation that much easier for EV drivers.”
Zapmap’s comprehensive coverage encompasses over 50,000 public charge points in the UK and thousands more across mainland Europe. The extended partnership positions it as a leader in the EV charging domain. It also underscores a shared dedication to delivering seamless on-the-road charging experiences for Nissan’s EV customers.
