EV battery maker launches in the UK, providing jobs for the West Midlands.
Volklec, a UK-based battery manufacturer specialising in electric vehicle power solutions, has recently launched its operations in Coventry. Backed by the Frontive Group, the company is dedicated to providing batteries for electric mobility across a range of vehicles.
Volklec has partnered with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC). This collaboration not only provides access to state-of-the-art facilities, but also equips Volklec with the skills and expertise required to thrive in the rapidly evolving EV battery sector.
Volklec plans to scale up quickly to produce batteries on a large scale. This quick scale up operation will create jobs in the West Midlands. The venture also boosts battery research and production capabilities in the UK.
Imran Khatri, Founder of Volklec, said:
“Volklec has been many months and significant investment in the making, established to help the UK’s decarbonisation drive. As a proud investment in the UK, our initial focus is on the automotive industry, providing security of supply to the sector, then we intend to look at the broader electrification markets as well.”
Volklec is focusing on innovation and meeting market demands. They will significantly impact electric vehicle battery manufacturing in the UK. We look forward to watching the development of Volklec in the coming months.
