Mer Austria has opened a cutting-edge fast-charging park in Spittal, hosting 18 high power charge points
Mer Austria has unveiled its latest venture in emobility: a fast-charging park in Spittal. It promises both environmental conscientiousness and ease of use. Nestled conveniently near the Tauern Spittal/Millstätter See motorway, this charging site has captured the anticipation of electric vehicle (EV) drivers since its announcement late last year.
Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a sustainable photovoltaic (PV) canopy, the charging park isn’t just a stopover. It’s a haven for EVs. Rain or shine, drivers can rely on uninterrupted charging, thanks to the innovative canopy. Moreover, its proximity to Großegger Straße allows visitors to explore local amenities while their EVs recharge.
The expansion of this charging site will occur in two phases, with completion expected by September 2024. Ultimately, it will feature nine fast-charging stations hosting 18 charging points, capable of delivering up to 400 kW output. Presently, three Alpitronic Hyperchargers with six charging points are already operational. Notably, all charging points derive their power from 100% certified renewable electricity sources.

Mer’s commitment to nationwide EV accessibility is evident through collaborations with regional entities like McDonald’s Austria and the establishment of greenfield charging parks. Looking ahead, Mer aims to further refine the charging experience through collaborations within the energy sector.
With the inauguration of the Spittal charging park, Mer Austria reaffirms its position at the forefront of European EV charging. It provides EV drivers with the infrastructure necessary for seamless sustainable travel across the Alps.
