MG’s Cyberster will make waves at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023

MG Motor UK is gearing up to showcase its revolutionary new Cyberster all-electric sports car at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023. After months of anticipation, we’ll get our first real look at the Cyberster. We’ll even get to see what it can do in the iconic Goodwood hill climb.

The design of the Cyberster showcases numerous nods to the brand’s rich history of convertible sports cars.

The Cyberster boasts an all-electric platform with a sizeable battery pack under the cabin floor. The specific battery capacity and technology remain undisclosed. However, MG aims for a range of around 270 miles on a single charge.

Buyers can choose between a rear-mounted single motor or a high-performance option featuring an additional motor on the front axle. While performance times have not been officially announced, the flagship model of the Cyberster is expected to achieve 0-60mph in under 3 seconds.

The Cyberster is expected to be in the pricing range of £50,000 to £60,000. This positions it as a more affordable alternative to potential competitors, such as Porsche’s upcoming electric Boxer.

MG seeks to redefine its image and demonstrate its transformation within the EV landscape through the Cyberster’s introduction.

Festival-goers will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Cyberster at the main MG stand. Additionally, a second Cyberster will feature at the First Glance paddock.

“We’re excited to return to the Festival of Speed and with a global debut. The Cyberster marks MG’s long-awaited return to sports car production and we’re ready to share what that exciting future looks like with this high-performance, technologically-advanced EV. Two further debuts are planned, both demonstrating MG’s desire to create electric cars that will engage and exhilarate.”

In addition to the Cyberster, MG will introduce two more electric performance cars at Goodwood. Visitors can expect a prototype codenamed EX4, and a second sporting EV slated for release later in the summer of 2023.

“We are absolutely delighted that MG Motor UK will be returning to Goodwood this summer and honoured that it has chosen the Festival of Speed to host the global debut for the MG Cyberster. With such rich history between Goodwood and MG and ahead of its centenary in 2024, I’m thrilled MG will be so much part of the Festival this year.”

The Duke of Richmond, host of the Goodwood Festival of Speed

MG’s presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed signifies a turning point in recreational vehicles. All-electric sports cars are an important step in convincing the more avid petrol-heads amongst us that EVs can be as exciting as petrol.
