Stellantis launches the STLA Large Platform, with 8 new vehicle released pencilled in already
Stellantis introduces the STLA Large Platform, a transformative step in electric vehicles (EVs) with an impressive 800 km range. It’s designed for optimal performance across diverse vehicle segments like cars and SUVs.
This platform stands out for its adaptability, accommodating both 400-volt and 800-volt BEV architectures. Notably, it boasts an embedded energy capacity of 118 kWh and a charging efficiency of 4.5 kWh per minute. What’s significant is its commitment to achieving an acceleration of 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2 seconds.
The STLA Large Platform’s differentiating factor lies in its flexibility. Engineers can fine-tune crucial dimensions such as wheelbase, length, width, height, and ground clearance. This adaptability positions it as a versatile solution for various brands under the Stellantis umbrella.
Dodge and Jeep® will lead the charge, with eight global vehicle launches scheduled from 2024 to 2026. Stellantis’ unveiling aligns with its Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, emphasising a commitment to making a substantial impact in the emobility market without resorting to overemphasised marketing language.
Beyond performance metrics, the STLA Large Platform prioritizes sustainability and practicality. Advanced high-strength materials optimise weight and rigidity, ensuring efficient use of interior space. The platform supports 400 GWh of battery capacity, contributing to Stellantis’ broader goal of achieving a 100% passenger car BEV sales mix in Europe and a 50% mix in the United States by 2030.
This unveiling reflects Stellantis’ dedication to remaining at the forefront of the evolving EV landscape, with an emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to meeting consumer needs. The STLA Large Platform is not just a technological leap; it’s a reflection of Stellantis’ strategic approach to the future of emobility.
