Green.TV Media, the world-leading sustainability multi-media company, have trademarked World EV Day. Green.TV Media created World EV Day in 2020, a day to celebrate sustainable mobility. It immediately became the biggest global mobility campaign of the year, with a traditional media reach of over one billion.
World EV Day is a global movement, driving change, together. A day of celebration of emobility and a day to shift the transition to sustainable transport with consumer, business and policy outcomes. It’s the brainchild of Ade Thomas and his team at Green.TV, who also deliver the hugely successful EV Summit.
In 2021, World EV Day saw over 300 million Twitter impressions. It has also become LinkedIn’s fourth most visited channel for those interested in sustainability. Impressive stuff.
During 2021 World EV day also saw engagement from some of the most important establishments around the globe. These included the White House in the USA, and both 10 Downing Street and the House of Commons in 2021.

In 2021, Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister, talked about World EV Day and announced a charging campaign.
Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister, said on Twitter: We’re accelerating the transition to zero-emission vehicles. As we mark World EV Day, it’s fantastic to see our bold and innovative plans in action across government and industry to make it easier for people to go electric and get the country building back greener.”
The UK Secretary of State, Grant Shapps, has also been an advocate of World EV Day mentioning it on Linkedin and in the Houses of Parliament.
Grant Shapps, UK Secretary of State, said: “This World EV Day, I want to not only provide easy access to the tools that people need to feel confident about making the switch, but also to make sure that chargepoints are accessible, affordable and recognisable.
“That’s why we have already committed £1.3 billion to accelerate the rollout of charging infrastructure up and down the country. And as we look forward to COP26 and beyond, our vision is that the UK is at the forefront of the zero emission transport future, creating thousands of green jobs in the process.”
The White House’s Climate Advisor, Gina McCarthy, also released a video address backing World EV Day.
Speaking about World EV Day 2021, Gina McCarthy, said: “The exciting thing about today [World EV Day] is that I don’t spend a lot of time dealing with climate deniers, we can see climate change happening in front of our eyes.
“The great thing is that we have solutions to these things that actually are terrific. We know the future of vehicles is electric. There is no question about it.
“I know it, not just because I think I’m really smart and because President Biden says so. I know it because every automaker that we deal with is saying exactly the same thing.”

World EV Day has become a huge global movement in its short existence and looks set to get bigger and stronger in 2022. World EV Day 2022 takes place on 9 September.
Ade Thomas, Green.TV and World EV Day founder, said: “Securing the trademark for World EV Day is testimony to the great work that the Green.TV Media team did in creating and deploying the day, and helps to further make it a substantive platform for the mobility community to engage with.”
The World EV Day Leadership Group defines the major campaigns for the day to include a global rollout of meet-ups where existing electric vehicle (EV) drivers connect up and educate prospective EV drivers.
