In the midst of the devastating invasion of Ukraine by Russia, electric bikes are helping Ukrainian soldiers defend their country, alongside the usual military hardware. Electric bikes, including those from Delfast and ELEEK, have been helping troops get around.
The big advantage of using electric bikes is that they are quick and efficient but best of all are silent making them perfectly stealthy to help with operations. Plus, unlike bigger vehicles, they can move around on smaller trails and paths in an extremely agile way.
The ELEEK Atom, for example, offers 3000 watts of power with a range of up to 92 miles (150km). Plus, it has a top speed of 62mph (100kph).
Earlier in the month, Vadym Ignatov, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Association of Electric Vehicle Market Participants, announced that ELEEK Atom electric bikes had been given to the Ukrainian soldiers.
In a feature written on Mezha Media Ignatov said: “We take into account all the wishes of our fighters, which were discovered during the combat use of the first units. And most importantly, added a very important feature that will allow you not to take additional power banks in the raid.
“The companies have added 220 V output, which will allow the use of any standard charger. After testing in real combat conditions, special forces fighters assessed the benefits of electric bikes and the need for them will increase.”
Delfast have also been helping the Ukrainian military with Danilo Tonkopi CEO announcing they had transferred bikes to help. Their electric bikes offer similarly impressive specifications.
Their Delfast Top 3.0 delivers 3,000 watts of power, with a top speed of 50mph (80kph). Best of all it offers an impressive range of up to 200 miles (321km), making it an extremely useful tool in these situations.
Danilo Tonkopi, Delfast CEO, said: “We transferred electric bikes to the forefront in the first weeks of the war, but we didn’t talk about it – we do some things quietly. Now we have received permission from the command and publish photos where and what for our bikes are used.”
It’s good to see that electric bikes are being used for good despite the awful situation in Ukraine. Hopefully, these will help the soldiers defend the country, move quickly and silently, and ultimately save lives.
