CTEK’s cutting-edge CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3: Streamlined EV charging for today and tomorrow
CTEK has unveiled its latest offering – the CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 (CC3) chargepoint. As the company’s most advanced model to date, the CC3 is set to meet the evolving needs of the growing EV market. It introduces features like bidirectional charging and ‘plug & charge’ automatic vehicle identification.
CTEK has sold over 100,000 CHARGESTORM CONNECTED series chargepoints in key markets such as the UK, Sweden, and Europe. The CC3 represents a decade-plus of experience in Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) design.
The CC3 prioritises ease of installation and usage. That positions it as a versatile option for diverse installations at locations such as car parks, apartment complexes, and workplaces. Offering robust security features, a dual-socket configuration, and a charging capacity of up to 22kW.
Ensuring compliance with existing UK chargepoint regulations, each CC3 unit is equipped with a unique password, tamper alerts, and encrypted communication. Furthermore, the CC3 aligns with the ISO15118 standard, setting the stage for future Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) scenarios.
Daniel Forsberg, CTEK’s Marketing Manager EVSE, said:
“The CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 is more than just an EVSE; it’s the embodiment of a synergy between state-of-the-art technology and user-centric design. We’re not merely charging vehicles; we’re fuelling the journey towards a more connected and efficient e-mobility future, pioneering in the realm of destination charging.”
The CC3 seamlessly integrates with third-party hardware and software through support for the latest Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP 2.0.1 standard), solidifying its role as a versatile and forward-looking charging solution.
Connectivity is a key feature of the CC3, featuring in-built Wi-Fi for uncomplicated installation and networking. With an optional 4G modem, the CC3 ensures continuous connectivity with lower power consumption, operating independently of traditional network setups. The inclusion of dual Ethernet ports opens avenues for potential future networking developments.
CTEK redesigned the wall mounting bracket to make it as easy for installers as possible. It features reconfigured punch-out holes and daisy chain capabilities for network and power cabling, streamlining the installation process. The CC3 variants are adaptable to both one- and three-phase electricity supplies.
Noteworthy is the incorporation of CTEK’s Nanogrid dynamic load balancing technology in the CC3, optimising power distribution among EVs and other local power demands for heightened efficiency and safety.
With their extensive experience in the field, CTEK have built a futureproof chargepoint. The CC3 is fully capable, streamlined and optimised, while being ready to charge EVs of a range of capabilities for years to come. With EVs on the rise worldwide, adoption will be a far easier sell if you can ensure buyers that their tech is staying in date for the foreseeable future.
