All-electric Citroen e-C4 now available to order in France

Citroen’s new e-C4 all-electric car that was first shown back in June is now available to order in France. What’s different with the e-C4 is that Citroen haven’t just gone down the route of a traditional hatchback or sports utility vehicle (SUV) like many electric car manufactures. Instead, they have deliberately combined the two to create a bold looking car that bridges both styles.

This smart looking family-sized electric car delivers more than style, though. It offers up to 217 miles (350km) of range from a full charge. It has a 100kW motor combined with a 50kWh battery that delivers 134 horsepower offering a top speed of 93mph (150kph). Using a 100kWh fast charger the e-C4 can reach up to 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes.

The e-C4 offers a good balance of range and performance making it a practical family car. These figures make it an extremely competitive with other electric cars in a similar price range like the Renault Zoe (£26,495), Vauxhall Corsa E (£28,000) and Nissan Leaf (£29,790).

Talking of price, the new e-C4 starts at €35,600, but with subsidies of €7,000 the price is reduced to €28,600 coming in below the magic €30,000 price point. French purchasers have the choice of five versions of the new e-C4. Orders are being taken now and should be delivered later this year.
